Sahara refund process : On July 18, 2023, the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS)-Sahara Refund Portal went live. This is an online portal for four Sahara Group Co-operative Societies depositors to process refunds.
Not all investors are currently eligible to request a refund through this website.The first payment of up to Rs 10,000 will be made through this portal to one crore investors who have deposited Rs 10,000 or more, according to Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation.

Who are eligible for a refund through the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal?
The genuine and legitimate depositors of the following four Sahara Societies are eligible for a refund through the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal:
a. Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Kolkata.
b. Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Lucknow.
What are the steps to register on the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal?
Step 1 Depositor Registration:
Visit the Home Page of CRCS Sahara Refund Portal and click on “Depositor Registration.” Fill in the details like last 4 digits of your Aadhaar Card, and mobile number linked with Aadhaar, on the Registration Page accurately. Click on “Get OTP” and enter the OTP received. Click “Verify OTP” to complete the mandatory registration
Step 2: Depositor Login:
Visit the Home Page of CRCS Sahara Refund Portal and click on “Depositor Login” Fill in the details like last 4 digits of your Aadhaar Card, and mobile number linked with Aadhaar, on the Depositor Login Page accurately. Click on “Get OTP” and enter the OTP received. Click “Verify OTP” to login

Documents required
- Membership no.
- Deposit Account No.
- Aadhaar linked Mobile no. (mandatory)
- Deposit certificates/ Passbook
- PAN card (if the claim amount is Rs 50,000 and above)
You require both an Aadhaar-linked bank account and a mobile number in order to register on the portal. You also need to know your deposit number and investment information. If the amount of your claim deposit exceeds Rs. 50,000, you must provide your PAN.
You will require your claim Request Form, PAN Card (if the amount of your claim is Rs. 50,000 or more), Aadhaar-seeding of your bank account, your membership number, and your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Passbooks and deposit certificates are also necessary.The website can be reached at mocrefund.crcs.gov.in.
You can log in to the refund website’s web portal, submit all of your claims at once, upload the necessary supporting documents, and share evidence of your investment amounts.

What should be the specifications of the documents being uploaded?
The documents uploaded should be on grayscale or color scale, vertically aligned. The size of the document should be restricted to 200KB for Deposit Certificate/Passbook; 2 MB for Completed pre-filled and executed Claim Application Form and 50 KB for PAN Card.
The application will be verified by Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies within 30 days of submission
Decision will be communicated via sms/ portal within further 15 days i.e. within 45 days of filing of online claim. Depositors are requested to submit all the claims pertaining to all the four societies in the same claim application form. Only claims filed online through the portal will be entertained.There is no fee for submitting claim.
